WHIPLASH SYMPTOMS - INJURY COMPENSATION CLAIMS
This injury is a form of sprain or strain occurring in the neck area. Any sharp jerk or jolt can cause whiplash and the more serious the accident, the more severe the whiplash symptoms. Road accidents are the most common cause of whiplash injuries. Frequently, these injuries seem minor at the time of the accident, but the whiplash symptoms worsen over time if left untreated.

Diagnosis
Doctors have a number of tools at their disposal for diagnosing whiplash. The primary diagnostic tool is a patient’s medical history and their current whiplash symptoms. A series of physical and neurological tests are also performed, and these can determine the extent of the injuries. Serious whiplash symptoms require more intensive testing, with CAT scans, MRI scans and X-rays being used to determine the extent of damage to the vertebrae, ligaments, nerves and muscles of the neck.

Personal Injury Claim
If you have been the innocent victim of a car accident and you believe you may have sustained a whiplash injury as a result, then you may be able to bring personal injury claim for compensation to cover your pain, suffering and economic losses. A person injury claim will only be successful if you are able to prove that a third party was wholly or partially responsible for the accident. We recommend that you follow these three steps in order to increase your chances for success :-
- Consult a medical specialist as soon as possible such as a GP or A&E.
- Contact a solicitor as soon as possible to ensure that your claim is not barred by time limitations.
- Write down as much information as you can to help establish and verify your claim - include details such as the time, date and place of the accident, the parties involved and any witnesses.
