CAR ACCIDENT COMPENSATION CLAIM SOLICITOR

A car accident compensation claim for personal injury damages is treated the same way as any other accident. The injured party needs to establish that the injury was somebody else’s fault or at least partially someone else's fault. It is necessary for the injured party to prove that the other driver has failed to take reasonable care for the safety of others and that the physical damage complained about was actually caused by the negligent driver.

Uninsured & Untraced Drivers

It is mandatory for all drivers to have at least third party insurance cover however, if you are unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident with an uninsured driver, or with a driver who doesn't stop after the accident, then you can claim for some and in certain circumstances all the losses from the Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB). The MIB is effectively a government body, funded by all of the UK’s insurance companies, that provides compensation for the victims of uninsured or untraced drivers. Whilst we still operate the no win no fee scheme on an uninsured or untraced car accident compensation claim our terms and conditions may vary and you may need to discuss the financial situation in detail with us prior to going ahead.

Evidence Preservation

The preservation of evidence and recording of relevant facts is an important part of any personal injury claim. If you are involved in a collision the following basic check list may help you to establish liability in any subsequent car accident compensation claim :-

  • When you are involved in a collision causing personal injury you should report it to the police within a reasonable period with the following details - your name and address, car registration number and insurance details.
  • Do not make or sign any statements at the scene even though you may believe the accident is not your fault. Wait till you have spoken to a solicitor before committing yourself to any accidental admissions.
  • Make sure you have a note of the make, colour, model and number plate of the vehicles involved
  • Note down the name and address of the driver
  • Note down the names and addresses of the witness but do not discuss the case with them nor take any statement from them
  • Write down every detail of the accident, your injuries and how those injuries have affected you monetarily
  • Take photographs of the location, the damage to the vehicles and any visible injuries
  • Inform your insurance company as soon as you can after the accident
  • Get yourself checked by a doctor
